Setting up a game
- Place your deck and your DON deck!! mixed well in their respective areas.
- Place your Leader card in your Leader zone.
- Decide who starts with Rock-Paper-Scissors or some other way.
- Draw the top 5 cards from your deck.
- You can choose to shuffle all the cards in your hand back into your deck and draw back the top 5 cards from your deck. This action can only be performed once.
- Place a number of cards equivalent to the Life value of your Leader
- from the top of your deck into your face-down Life zone.
- The player who goes first begins their turn.
How to play One Piece TCG
The One Piece card game consists of 8 different game areas. Here is an example of how to organize your play space according to the different zones:
1. The Character Area
This is where you place your character cards after playing them. You can only have a maximum of 5 characters in play at any time.
2. The Leader
Your Leader begins the game directly in play in his own zone.
3. Stage cards
Stage cards also have their own zone, you can only have one Stage card in play at any time.
4. The Deck
At the beginning of the game, you set your 50-card deck here. You draw your cards from this deck.
5.The discard pile

6. The Cost Zone
